Bauerfeind Softec Lumbo ®

SofTec Lumbo is a modular functional lumbar support for stabilization of the lumbar spine and the lumbosacral transition. Its modular design permits controlled movement according to an individually adaptable multi-stage regimen.

Stage 1 (Stabilization phase):
For effective postoperative, or initially conservative, stabilization of vertebral body segments S1 to L3 ("Long") or S1 to L4 ("Short"), the support is used together with the shell.

Stage 2 (Mobilization phase):
During the initial stages of mobilization with progressive rehabilitation, the shell is removed and the textile element in the affected lumbosacral area is reinforced with CFR rods

Stage 3 (Activity phase):
As patients become increasingly mobile, the CFR rods are replaced by corset rods, thereby reducing the external supportive effect.

Product Features:
  • Composed of an elastically knitted base and outer knitted fabric for stability and an optimal fit

  • The soft knitted materials and wide fasteners facilitate secure, simple fitting

  • The LPT (Low Power Tension) strap system of the outer knitted fabric facilitates the application of considerable force against the body without expending much effort

  • The plastic half-shell is heat moldable and anatomically contoured for an optimal fit

  • The CFR (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic) rods ensure optimal load transfer of the half shells and provide lumbar stabilization during progressive mobilization without half-shells

  • The corset rods provide gentle lumbar support with increasing mobility and are self-shaping

  • An optional abdominal pad applies targeted suprapubic support of the abdominal wall for partial relief and stabilization of the lumbar spine

    Can be used to prevent:

  • Post-lumbar disk surgery or a stabilizing operation (e.g. spondylodesis)

  • Fractures of the lower lumbar spine

  • Tumors (metastases)

  • Inflammation

  • Spondylolisthesis, spondylolysis

  • Lumbar spinal stenosis

  • Facet syndrome

  • Lumbar syndrome

  • Symptomatic stenoses of the intervertebral lumbar foramina

Bauerfeind Lumboloc ®

LumboLoc provides effective support for the lower back to relieve back pain.

  • Knitted lumbar support incorporating an adjustable, anatomically contoured silicone insert stabilizes and relaxes the lower back muscles
  • Silicone insert with raised nodules provides intermittent compression to the soft tissue, leading to increased circulation, and allowing for unicompartmental movement
  • Intermittent compression stimulates muscle activity which most lower back supports do not achieve
  • Promotes proprioception, thus heightening sensory awareness in the lower back for increased stabilization
  • Anatomical knit carries controlled compression graduated at the edges to prevent rolling of the support
  • Velcro fastenings and hand straps allow for easy application and adjustment, even for people with arthritis
  • Lightweight, breathable knit will not retain heat and is completely machine washable

Can be used to prevent:

  • Mechanical low back pain
  • Degenerative joint disease (arthritis)
  • Lumbar syndrome (muscular imbalance)
  • Chronic postural disorders
  • Bone formation disorders
  • Degenerative disc disease
  • Minor instability of the lumbosacral spine
  • Muscle strain
  • Sacroiliac dysfunction

Thoracolumbar Support w/ Warm & Form Insert

Thoracolumbar support with posterior pocket to hold and position Thermo-Mold rigid insert or additional padding. Hook and pile closure simplifies application and allows varying degrees of adjustment for fit. Provides compression and support to stabilize thoracic, lumbar, sacral, abdominal regions.

Custom Bivalve Body Jacket

The Bivalve TLSO is designed to immobilize spinal patients from neck to hips. This custom TLSO promotes rapid fusion for shorter hospital stays and is therefore the ideal post-operative brace. A wide variety of materials, including low or high density polyethylene, copolymer and polypropylene are available. Indications:  Post-operative, Compression Fractures, Spinal Immobilization

Custom Scoliosis Jacket

The brace we use employs pneumatic force vector pads that are air-injected to gently encourage continuous curvature correction in scoliotic patients. The dynamics of the brace are based on the same principles used to effect dental correction via orthodontic appliances. Our brace is custom-cast, custom-fitted, and custom-fabricated to the exact body dimensions of each patient. It is designed to fit skin-tight to the patient and is, therefore, relatively inconspicuous in public. By combining the advancements of the thermoplastics and pneumatic bladders, elimination of the standard superstructure and neck ring has now become possible. Being no more than 5 mm thick, the brace creates a minimum bulge under the patient's clothing.

PMT HALO Systems

MRI/CT compatible
Adjustable headlocks can independently adjust 3 ways. Displaced buckle for clear lateral x-rays.
Shorter, tapered vest design to accommodate pendulous abdomen. Soft, flexible material at shoulder for increased anterior/posterior compression. Nylon ball joints for quick and easy assembly.

Adjustable headblocks can independently adjust 3 ways: A/P positioning
Flexion/Extension, Traction/Distraction

SOMI

Somi Brace ( Sterno Occipital Mandibular Immobilizer ) designed to apply forces under the chin and occiput to restrict flexion and extension as well as rotation of the head and cervical spine

Jewett Hyperextension Brace

This orthosis proves excellent three point loads on the sagittal plane but does very little in motion reduction in the coronal and transverse planes

CASH Hyperextension Brace

This orthosis is similar to the Jewett in that it provides excellent sagittal hyperextension and does not immobilize the coronal and transverse planes. Unlike the Jewett, the Cash is light weight and more cosmetic.

Short Lumbosacral
Front closure, designed to fit short torsos or when the prescription specifies a narrower back support due to location of injuries.

Lumbosacral Support
Front closure, designed to fit average torsos or when the prescription specifies a higher back support due to location of injuries

Pendulous Lumbosacral
Side closure, designed to lift pendulous abdomens to reduce stress on spine. Designed for obese figure types.

Chairback Brace

Lightweight, durable spinal orthosis helps maintain the spine in neutral alignment and permits ease of movement. Low profile brace offers excellent rigidity when worn with a snug corset front. Fills the gap between soft lumbo-sacral supports and rigid leather and metal orthoses.
