Whether you have a
Taylor, Chair or a Hilo Orthosis, you will find it more
comfortable if you wear a cotton t-shirt underneath. The
t-shirt keeps the brace off your bare skin preventing excess
friction, and keeps it cleaner longer. To clean the orthosis
you may unlace the front and wash it, laying it flat to dry.
Do not use bleach on your orthosis, Woolite and other mild
soaps are recommended. The vinyl covering the metal
parts can be wiped off with a damp cloth, alcohol wipe, or
even soap and water. Just don't get the superstructure wet,
and never use a heat source to dry any part of the brace.
