When donning and doffing the hose, be
extremely careful with your fingernails. Just like regular
hose, runners can be caused by sharp fingernails and rings. We
cannot refund or exchange hose due to runners or holes. If you
do have sharp fingernails or jewelry, we recommend wearing thin
cotton gloves while putting on and taking off your hose. The
steps for donning hose are:
-
Turn the hose inside out down to
the heel. Slide the lower portion onto your foot, and work
the hose over your ankle, slowly turning it right side out
again.
-
Use a back and forth motion to
work the hose up your leg. Do not pull the hose straight
up your leg, as this will stretch the hose out lengthwise and it
will no longer compress your leg properly.
-
Work out all the wrinkles in the
hose as you work it up your leg. A wrinkle can cause skin
irritation and impeded the compression of the hose. Loose
socks may be worn outside the hose.
To remove your hose, repeat these
steps backward, being careful not to let the hose bunch up at your
ankle and prevent you from pushing it back over your heel.
Cleaning
Your hose may be machine washed
gently, without bleach, with a mild soap like Dreft or Ivory. Be
wary of Petroleum or chlorine based detergents like Woolite or Tide
which may lessen the life of your hose. To dry your hose, hang
them on a line or lay them flat to air dry.
