Dorsal or Lumbo-Sacral Corsets

If you have received your corset from Progressive, it has been carefully made to fit you.  Should you need an adjustment come to our office and we will adjust it while you wait.

Proper  Wearing

Your Practitioner will give a wearing schedule specific to you, please be sure to follow this.   Aside from this, adopt a general practice of wearing a t- shirt or other garment underneath the brace - this will keep it cleaner and more comfortable to wear.  Each time you take your corset off, release the buckles, opening the corset to its fullest extent.  When putting the corset on, position it so that the metal stays in the back are parallel to your spine, and wear it as low as you may without pressing on your thighs while sitting.  Snap or hook the fasteners from the bottom up.  Tighten the pull straps from the bottom up as well, pulling the straps two at a time from bottom to top.

Care

Tears snags or holes in the corset should be repaired as soon as they appear, especially before the garment is washed.  to clean the corset, remove the stays in back, being aware of how they came out. The stays must go back in the same way.  Hand wash the garment without bleach, and line dry at room temperature.  Do no use any sort of heat source on the corset.

Note: It is helpful to have two of the corset you are wearing, so you may wear one while you wash the other.
